Money. If we only had a little more we’d have a much better life, right? Maybe not. Maybe it’s how we view our money is what makes life better. Let’s talk about how we can find security and peace in a time when everything (especially our financial future) seems uncertain and chaotic.
It’s here, the final part in our series and we get to tackle something that SOUNDS really fun, but in reality, doesn’t happen as much as it probably should: Generosity. We often tell ourselves ‘if we had a little bit more or were wealthy, we’d love to be generous… And when we have enough we will be.’ But maybe generosity is determined by the willingness to give, not the amount given. Listen or watch to find out how you can be a generous (and happy!) person, no matter your income.
In part 1, we focused on the purpose of money: that is to use it for a purpose that isn’t you. Here in part 2, we face this hard fact: There will never be enough money to give you a life of purpose. So what do we do? Well, we do have some control over our life, our purpose, and how we use our money. It can be summed up like this: we choose our priorities. Listen or watch to discover how we usually order things, and perhaps a fresh rearrangement of those priorities! It could be a game changer.
We can all probably agree with this statement: One of the hardest things about being an adult is MONEY. But if we understand its purpose and how to use it well, it can make not just our life better, but many others’ as well. It’s why Jesus talked about money quite a bit… And what we will discover in his teachings is this: The purpose of money is to use it for a purpose. Listen in as we delve into Jesus’ words as recorded in Luke 12:13-34.
– A few simple songs (usually a guitar and maybe a violin and percussion) to sing along with or just listen to. – A short message (similar to our YouTube/podcast style messages) – Communion together (all are welcome at the table, but you can also skip this). – A final song and a simple prayer. – Afterwards, an optional snack while you meet some folks.
All in all, should last about an hour.
How many people will be there? 🤓
We are a small church, like a majority of churches in America! Weekly we see between 25 and 45 people gathering in the main room. It just depends. If you want to hide in the back, you still can!
What do you offer for kids? 👨👧👧
We have kids’ classrooms for nursery/pre-k and for elementary kids through grade 5. Our volunteers are background checked and there are always open doors and multiple volunteers. You can also keep your kids in the service with you. It’ll be an hour long. Email us with any specific kid-related questions! info@yourcrosscreek.com
Do I have to believe in Jesus to attend? 🙋🏽
No. We created this church in 2017 to be a place where faith in Jesus can be explored, and isn’t demanded, assumed or expected.
We welcome your questions, your doubts, and the process of faith. You don’t have to believe to belong.
And we won’t make any assumptions: we promise to explain briefly what’s happening and invite you to join in. You can also sit back and just check things out.
