Jesus frees us from performing for approval and invites us to live securely in the love of our Heavenly Father instead of striving to prove ourselves.
Main Ideas:
Approval is powerful.
We feel pulled to prove ourselves… to others, to God, to ourselves.
In the Kingdom of Heaven, we can stop living for approval… and start living from it.
God is a loving, attentive, engaged Father who deeply cares for you personally.
God isn’t impressed just because people are.
God doesn’t want your religious performance… He wants your relationship.
You can pray confidently… not because you have the right words, but because you belong to him.
Forgiven people forgive.
When you know you don’t have to prove anything to God anymore… you realize you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone else, either.
You are already seen, accepted, and loved. And the proof is Jesus.
