Many people have rejected the Bible and even Christianity as a whole because of the apparent sexism and chauvinism found in the biblical writings. In addition, Christians often judge and argue with each other based on their own interpretations of these verses.  

But, with the right tools, an open mind, and a bit of grace for each other we might be able to give ourselves permission to look at things from a different angle and try to understand each other a bit better.

How can we know, and even be confident, that when we read the biblical writings we’re actually understanding them and “getting it right?” The solution isn’t to give up or just settle for someone else telling us what they think they mean… but to begin using some basic guidelines and tools to interpret the biblical writings for ourselves.

What does it take for God to be done with us? When does God finally give up on, not only using us for something good, but even seeing us being worth the effort to keep around and keep forgiving? The truth is ridiculous, illogical, and amazing.
